I just completed the one week course on mounting a whitetail deer head. I thought it would be appropriate to return some feedback so that you may be able to evaluate the progress of students attending.

I am a retired State employee, who over the last 33 years have attended 100's of training course around the country, I have also been on the other side of the podium, having given seminars and training on my chosen field in communications. I would like to establish the point that I am not looking to make a living doing taxidermy, but, have enthusiastically pursued this as a hobby and a outlet of artistic talents. I have hunted and studied the Whitetail Deer for over 45 years.

That being said, I have a slightly different point of reference than my fellow students, who are there to learn a new trade for making a living or to supplement their income. I am not looking to break any records for speed, but, rather will take my time and render a piece of art. With the time I take to finish a mount, I would not make a nickel. I will be paying an extraordinary amount of time tweaking and detailing a head. By nature I am very meticulous and precise, attributes that are important in taxidermy, yet not very contributing to the profit margin if in business.

The one week couse and the work of instructor Dan Gartner, was in my opinion, an excellent experience for myself and my fellow students. As I have said, I have attended over 100 seminars around the country, and found this to be one of the most outstanding training sessions I have every attended. It is well rounded, very well delivered and quite fulfilling. I feel a enormous amount of satisfaction in what I have achieved. I feel the course was truly first class and well worth my investment of time and money.

Thanks to instructor Dan Gartner, his teaching abilities are excellent, he is very meticulous, very detail oriented, and his no nonsense approach was refreshing. It is easy to see why he is so successful in his profession. He did not cut corners and thoroughness shows in the final product. His 28 years of experience and the wisdom he has gathered in that time was well exhibited. Wisdom is a quality that unless you share it, fails in part to be true wisdom. Instructor Gartner's presence, delivery and professionalism is money in the bank for your program, and money in the bank for the students who greatly benefited from the privilege of being a part of this program. The attention he pays equally to students was very rewarding, (and Shane's help was greatly appreciated also, always answering question and helping out with instruction). As you can see I was quite impressed by your course and your products. As an artist, the challenge was there and the satisfaction with my accomplishments was very real and rewarding.

And finally, on behalf of myself and my fellow students, I would like to extend our THANKS to Dan & Sophie Rienhart, Elaine, Dan Gartner, Shane and all your staff, for an excellent week and experience.

Thanks Again,
Don Hartman
