...I also learned the true meaning and enjoyment of TAXIDERMY!
In the two weeks I spent in the Deerhead course and the fish course, I not only learned how to mount these animals,
I also learned the true meaning and enjoyment of TAXIDERMY! Dan opened my eyes to the world after your trophy is
taken or caught. No matter the size, it’s the memories and the pursuit that you are reminded of for life
everytime you look at your beautiful mount, which you learned to bring back to life. As sportsmen we know time is
only one thing that isn’t on our side in the great outdoors but the techniques you learn at the Dan Rinehart
Taxidermy School can make those memories last forever. God Bless, and remember our freedoms as sportsmen
and women are under attack and the world of taxidermy is a great way to be involved to protect them.

...the most thorough and efficient form of learning
I found Dan Rinehart’s Bird Taxidermy Course to be the most thorough and efficient form of learning. It was challenging,
yet fun and exciting! He pushes you to exceed your personal expectations. I have come away from the course confident
and prepared to do bird taxidermy.

Dan will really go out of his way...
I have taken 3 courses and everyone is packed with expert advice. The courses are easy to follow and easy to remember.
Dan will really go out of his way to make the course a one-on-one experience as much as possible.

Turning My Business Profitable
Dan Rinehart has provided me the added components and processes to launch
what has been a life long passion for taxidermy. The mammal and fish
techniques will help me expand my hobby into a lucrative and profitable
business. One only need an open minded approach to take full advantage of
the numerous basic and advanced techniques for quality and efficient
taxidermy. I will take with me these additional tools and add to my prior
learning from artists here in Wisconsin and around the country.

Exceeded My Expectations
Without a doubt, this course not only met but exceeded ALL of my
expectations. Dan takes enough time to cover the subject in detail so that
anyone can understand what it takes to make a high quality mount. Dan?s
school is first rate and second to NONE.

Giving Me Confidence
My name is David Willis and I always wanted to learn taxidermy. But the
fear of ruining someones deer or fish kept me from trying. Dan Rinehart’s
taxidermy school took the fear right out of me. Dan taught me what was
needed to be successful in taxidermy. Don’t be afraid - go for it! I
highly recommend Dan Rinehart Taxidermy School.

A Letter of Thanks
I just completed the one week course on mounting a whitetail deer head. I thought it would be appropriate to return some feedback so that you may be able to evaluate the progress of students attending.
I am a retired State employee, who over the last 33 years have attended 100's of training course around the country, I have also been on the other side of the podium, having given seminars and training on my chosen field in communications. I would like to establish the point that I am not looking to make a living doing taxidermy, but, have enthusiastically pursued this as a hobby and a outlet of artistic talents. I have hunted and studied the Whitetail Deer for over 45 years. ...more

Back to School - NRA Endorsement
My career in taxidermy began when I was 8 years old. My skills were a bit short of commercial-grade and I lacked the business license, tax identification number, and every appropriate permit needed to conduct my craft. My tools were rudimentary and my methodology a bit primitive, but without formal training (or any training, for that matter) I did the best I could. My first specimen—a slow-moving bumblebee—turned out more like a chewed-up wad of bubblegum painted black and mustard, and disintegrated within a week of windowsill sunlight.
Twenty-four years later I got the courage to try again. This time however, I thought professional training might be worthwhile so I began doing some research. There are dozens of taxidermy schools scattered across our great nation, but few come as highly recommended as Dan Rinehart’s School of Taxidermy in Edgerton, Wisconsin. Sponsored by industry giant Van Dykes Taxidermy Supply, and led by an all-star cast of premier taxidermists, Rinehart’s School of Taxidermy has produced some of the best-trained, most decorated taxidermists in the commercial ranks. ...more
Deer Head Taxidermy Course
I just wanted to send you a quick note after taking the Deer Head course at
your school. At orientation, Elaine said that if we had ever mounted a deer
before to forget everything that we know and just do things your way. Let me
tell you, that in itself was a tough thing to do. I was able to do that
throughout the course though, and I'm sure glad I did. If you recall, I was
the one who had mounted a deer before but using the dry preservative method.
I will never go back to that way again. What was I thinking???? I can't tell
you how many times I was asked about the dry preserve method in class by the
other students. I could not stress enough the fact that that was not the way
to go. Yet they continued to ask about it thinking it was a short cut to all
of the prep work. I kept telling them that they shouldn't even consider it,
no control over the drying process, doesn't last, etc. I learned more in
this past week than I have in the last 10 years of self teaching. I wish I
would have done this years ago.
You have an excellent course and are an excellent instructor.
For the life of me I didn't know how you were going to pull it off with 18
people in the class. You were always there for everyone and answered every
question asked of you. Patiently. Keep up the fantastic work. Your system of
teaching the class is perfect.
I hope to be able to return for one of your seminars on turkey mounting (you
said something about one in January?) or maybe for the fish course. You have
changed for the better the way that I (we) do taxidermy and for that you
should be recognized. You are a fine leader in the industry and I am proud
to not only have taken your course but to have met you. Thank you for your
time, patience and for sharing your knowledge.
