Wholesale Taxidermy Services

So, you are a taxidermist and you have more work in your freezer than you could ever complete by yourself or you currently don’t have the knowledge to create a high quality fish mount. Well, your troubles are over! Dan Rinehart can take care of your fish work, get you out of trouble with your customers and provide your customer with a beautiful fish mount. All you need to do is gather-up your fish and ship them to Dan Rinehart Taxidermy Studio.

Mount Specifics:
All fish will be mounted with a Flex Eyes in the front AND back, fins are prepared with a Fle-Fin technique, all manikins are hand-carved or quality pre-manufactured, color is recreated with quality LifeTone paints, back seam is professionally finished with a felt-strip. Only the highest quality supplies are used to give your customers what they deserve – a BEAUTIFUL fish mount!

Wholesale Price Qualification:

To qualify for wholesale prices you must, #1 Provide a letter with the name and address of you taxidermy business in the heading, #2 Include multiple fish in your shipment, #3 provide an approximate 50% deposit. If you are NOT a professional taxidermist (full-time or part-time), you do NOT qualify for wholesale pricing.

Wholesale Prices:
All fish are measured from the end of the nose to the end of the tail. Warm Water fish (Bass, walleye, crappie, etc.) are $6.00/inch, Cold Water fish (trout, salmon, char, etc.) are $6.50/inch, Salt Water and “specialty” fish (catfish, exotics, etc.) are $7.50/inch, Reproductions are $12.00/inch

Turn Around Time:
Fish are generally completed and returned in three to four months.

If you made it this far, you are VERY serious about receiving a high quality fish mount. You are looking for a fish skin mount or reproduction of EXCEPTIONAL quality!

International Taxidermy Champion – Dan Rinehart can help you fulfill your desire. Dan will use his years of experience and success to provide you with a fish mount you will be proud to hang on your wall!

Fish Skin-Mount:
So, you caught a fish and want to have a skin-mounted created. This is Dan’s area of expertise. Dan with complete you skin-mount to the original beauty of the fish fresh from the water.

Graphite Fish Reproduction:
Maybe you caught a fish, let it go and then realized that you wanted it mounted. No Problem! Dan can create an exacting reproduction of the fish you let go. All you need to provide is an approximate length and girth (thin, average, thick). A photo is helpful but is NOT necessary.

Retail Prices:
Warm Water fish (bass, walleye, crappie, etc.) are $10.00/inch, Cold Water fish (trout, salmon, char, etc.) are $12.00/inch, Salt Water and “Specialty” fish (catfish, exotics, etc.) are $13.00/inch, and Graphite Reproductions are $14.00/inch.

Turn Around Time:
Fish are generally completed and returned in five to six months.


Shipping Instructions

  1. Always ship on a Monday
  2. Wrap each fish in wet cloth towel, place in a plastic bag, and freeze solid
  3. Once the fish are frozen, TIGHTLY wrap the fish in insulation (housing insulation and/or newspaper) and place into a cardboard box.
  4. Place a letter with your contact information, fish mounting instructions, and approximate 50% deposit in a plastic “Zip-Lock” bag and place next to fish.
  5. Pack frozen fish in a cardboard box and seal tightly with packing tape.
  6. Take your package to a UPS center or click here to contact UPS
  7. Finally, Always ship you package 2ndDay UPS.
  8. For reproductions, simply send a letter including size of fish and photo (if possible) along with a 50% deposit.
